Now this is a great cup of coffee! I think it's my favorite pod so far. It's got a deep bold flavor, an innate sweetness you feel in the center of your tongue, with that roasted bitter feeling along the sides and tip of your tongue. It's not over the top bold either, it's profile is pulled back a bit. Probably due to the "Harmony of Light and Dark Roast Coffees" mentioned on the box.
This is my second box of Melita "European Indulgence" coffee pods and this seems to be emerging as my favorite brand. I had tried "Buzzworthy" earlier and enjoyed that too.
Another bonus Blanc et Noir is the fact that the pod itself is packed pretty full. I didn't have to do any crazy tricks get a good brew. Just use the 2-cup insert and either the 1-cup waterlevel level 3 setting for an extra flavorful/strong cup or use the 2-cup water level 1 setting for a slightly more mellow cup. Either gave a great coffee experience. I do like to wet the pod first, it seems to help get it going, but dry worked fine for me too.
The price is pretty good too, less expensive than the premium brands and you get a whopping 18 pods per box! I will be getting this again, and will be trying more from the "European Indulgence" line.
